Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist, and competes within the UFC flyweight division. She's older than fellow UFC fighter and Former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko started her journey into combat sports in the form of an Muay Thai kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut in the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals via a majority verdict. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina used her superior strike techniques and striking skills to TKO Nievera in the clinch by knees on the body. Antonina was offered the UFC invitation following her win. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Strikes Finale in the fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took victory in a unanimous victory, however she lost her second fight to Roxanne Modafferi on the split decision. Antonina bounced back from losing to knock out Lucie Pudilova by choking her back in a rear-naked submission during the second round of UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned an extra fight in the night in this fight. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her next 3 fights. She beat Ariane Lipski and lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee.
